Due to unforeseen complications regarding Covid-19, the board of MTSNYS has made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s annual meeting. Hofstra University, along with several other schools in the NYC area, has cancelled in-person classes this week and it is not clear at this time that the campus will be open when we convene. The board, in consultation with the program committee and presenters, plans to create an alternative virtual conference, tentatively scheduled for May or June, that will feature recorded and/or streaming presentations of this year’s exciting program. It is deeply disappointing to forego an in-person conference, but we hope by making this decision now, the membership will have a reduced risk of exposure and avoid unnecessary expense in the event that Hofstra is not available for the meeting.
In the meantime, we encourage you to vote in the election for the open MTSNYS board positions. Ballot links were sent electronically to the membership n March 5 and voting closes April 4. If you are a member and did not receive your ballot link, please email Christopher Bartlette, MTSNYS Treasurer, at email@example.com.
Thank you for your continued support of MTSNYS – we look forward to sharing details of the virtual conference once it is set.
